PAPIS: A Comprehensive Collections Management System

PAPIS is an advanced Collections Management System (CMS) built on the Claris FileMaker Pro platform. Designed to meet the diverse needs of curators, collection managers, and natural history (NH) museums, PAPIS provides an efficient solution for registering and managing biological materials across all kingdoms.

Key Features:
• Comprehensive Data Management: Track species and specimen data, manage biological collections, and record specimen transactions, including inbound and outbound loans.
• Enhanced Functionality: Link images to specimen records, manage expeditions, record DNA sequencing runs, track literature references, and create customizable labels.
• Online Accessibility: Publish catalog data to the Internet and share resources seamlessly.
• User-Friendly Interface: Intuitive navigation, supported by numerous "how-to" pop-up guidelines, ensures ease of use for all users.

Deployment Options:
PAPIS can be installed on a FileMaker server to enable collaborative access, allowing multiple users to work simultaneously via a browser or FileMaker Pro. Alternatively, it can be installed locally on a desktop or laptop for individual use.

Open Access for the Scientific Community:
PAPIS is a free, open-source software solution available exclusively for scientific purposes. It is a non-commercial product and may not be used for commercial applications.

System requirements:
To use PAPIS, you must have Claris FileMaker Pro 14 (or a later version) installed on your computer (https://www.claris.com/trial/).
